Pixel Ruler by Chimney Top
A draggable ruler for measuring web pages.
Pixel Ruler puts a ruler on top of any web page when you ask for it. Drag it, resize it and read its width, height and position in pixels or in rem. Use the arrow keys to nudge it one pixel at a time, or ten with Shift, and press Escape to close it. Save the sizes you need. The ruler only appears when you press the toolbar icon. The extension has no standing access to any website: it runs only on the tab where you press the icon, and it only measures. Nothing you measure leaves your browser.
Built from scratch as a replacement for Page Ruler. It was built from scratch for Manifest V3 and draws its ruler only when you press its icon, with no standing access to your websites.

Permissions it asks for
activeTab— Gives temporary access to the tab where you press the toolbar icon, until you leave that page, so the extension can draw its ruler there. There is no standing access to any website.scripting— Puts the packaged ruler overlay onto the tab where you press Measure this page. It runs only a script shipped inside the extension: the script adds its own ruler to the page, reads only the page's root font size (to show rem) and does not read the page's content or address.storage— Stores your unit choice (px or rem) and your saved measurements locally in the browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
Privacy
Your unit choice and saved measurements (sizes and positions in pixels, with the date saved) are stored only in chrome.storage.local on your device. The overlay runs only on the tab where you press the icon and only measures: it reads the page's root font size to show rem, does not read the page's content or address, and never stores them. If you activate Pro, your license key is sent to the Chimney Top license-check service to confirm it.
