Browser extension privacy policy
Privacy for our browser extensions
No data leaves your browser except the licence key you type. That one sentence is the whole policy; the rest of this page spells it out. It covers every extension listed below and is the policy linked from each Chrome Web Store listing.
What the extensions do with your data
- Everything an extension reads (for example the titles and addresses of your open tabs) is used in the browser, for the action you just asked for, and is either kept in
chrome.storage.localon your device or not kept at all. - Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. There are no analytics, no crash reporting, no remote code and no advertising.
- The one exception: if you activate Pro, the licence key you type is sent to our licence-check service so it can confirm the key is valid. Only the key and the extension's name are sent, never your browsing data. The service keeps a short-lived record of the key's status so the extension keeps working if the payment provider is briefly unreachable.
- Pro purchases are handled by our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) on its own pages under its own privacy policy; the extension never sees your card.
Per-extension detail
The Chrome Web Store asks each extension to declare the categories of data it handles. Ours declare only what they need to do their one job, and none of it leaves your browser.
Tab Link Copier by Chimney Top
Single purpose: Copy the links of your open tabs and open lists of links as tabs.
- Web history: Titles and addresses of the tabs in a window are read only when you press Copy, formatted in the browser and handed to your clipboard; they are not stored.
Only your settings and custom formats are stored, in chrome.storage.local on your device. If you activate Pro, your license key is sent to the Chimney Top license-check service to confirm it; no browsing data is ever sent.
Independent Tab Zoom by Chimney Top
Single purpose: Give each browser tab its own zoom level.
Handles none of the Chrome Web Store data categories.
Zoom levels, settings and site rules are stored only in chrome.storage.local on your device. If you allow the optional tabs permission for site rules, tab addresses are read on your device to find the matching rule and are never stored or sent anywhere. If you activate Pro, your license key is sent to the Chimney Top license-check service to confirm it.
Window Organizer by Chimney Top
Single purpose: Show, organize and save the browser windows and tabs you have open.
- Web history: Titles and addresses of open tabs are read to display and organize them; windows you save are kept only in chrome.storage.local on your device.
Saved windows and settings are stored only in chrome.storage.local on your device. If you activate Pro, your license key is sent to the Chimney Top license-check service to confirm it; no browsing data is ever sent.
Permissions
Each extension asks only for the browser permissions its job needs, and the reason for each one is written next to it in the extension's source and on its page here. None of them requests access to the content of the websites you visit unless its page says so.
Removing your data
Uninstalling an extension deletes everything it stored on your device. To remove a licence key from our licence-check service, email support@chimneytopdigital.com from the address you bought with.
